Error Lights
Error Lights
I've searched all over but can't find anything. I am buying a 2005 Cooper S and it has one of the error lights on the speedometer lit. The salesman said it's for tire pressure but I'm not too sure. Its the 2nd (or 3rd) from the right. Thanks in advance.
Third light from the right is a little car symbol. It tells you your hatch is not closed. Second symbol from the right looks kind of like a little 'U' with a flat spot on the bottom. It has an exclamation on the inside. It is for the tire pressure. Make sure all your tires are inflated where you want them, and reset you light by pressing in on the little button that is located underneath the emergency brake handle. The light on your dash should go out.
I think it was a bit squiggly at the bottom with an "!". If that makes any sense... I'll try to get a picture of it. The closer I get to buying it I'm getting more excited, and nervous!

My wife says that light looks like an ****....
I'd make sure that light goes out. If it's been sitting on the lot for a while it makes sense that the light is on. Have them fill up the tires to 30-35 or whatever, then press and hold the button under the e-brake for a couple three seconds. Drive slowly and the light should go out. I just had it go off on my car last night. I had low pressure in all 4 from storage and got a little zesty on the cloverleaf. That was enough to light up the dash.
If you can't get it to go out it may indicate a sensor may need some attention...
