Stalling After Cold Start

A brief search here did not bring up anything. So, here is my issue:
Close to freezing temps and below my 07 MCS starts up fine, but gets unhappy within about 20 seconds. Idle is rough at least, engine usually stalls at next stop sign (0.5 miles away). Engine does not respond smoothly to throttle, except for cracking it open ever so slightly. Today at 33F, I pulled away after a cold start and the engine actually died while driving in 2nd gear. Had to get out of traffic to roadside on momentum. Engine always starts up again but displays same issues until warmed up some.
Dealer says (actually never had the car displaying the problem at the dealership because of wheather and infrequent visits: 2hr drive to get there) that this is a known issue with 07 MCS caused by freezing moisture blocks the butterfly in the throttle body, he can't do anything, hopes Mini will come up with solution before next winter...

Anybody?

Plenty of us are driving in cold weather and below freezing temperatures w/o experiencing the problems you are. I think your dealer is not doing a very good job fixing this issue. If it were normal, every MCS would do it.

I had the same problem!

Mine did the same thing when the temp went below 20 degrees F. It didn't do it all the time however. I didn't have time to take it to the dealer and now, fortunately, it is warm and not an issue. If you find the problem, please let us know!

Mine had an issue once when it was very cold and it stalled almost immediately after starting. Upon several restarts it would idle very rough and then stall, and the check engine light came on.

The dealer said the throttle valve was sticking and they replaced it, but I suspect it was the moisture issue causing the valve to freeze, which many others have reported on this forum. I haven't had the problem since, but I know one other R56 owner in the city who had the same issue and he was told there is currently no fix.

"Currently no fix" ... how annoying is that to hear when you bought a brand new car and cannot rely on it to get you to work!!!!!
