Vibration Through Clutch Pedal

Does anyone feel a very slight vibration as the clutch is let out? There is no slipping and everything operates normally but sometimes I feel slight vibration through the pedal and sometimes it is completely smooth. It happens in different gears, speeds, and rpms. Is this normal?

The car is still in the break in period at 1000 miles and I have been very easy on it.

I appreciate the feedback.. and from anyone else who either has or has not noticed this. It's pretty subtle but definitely noticeable when you are paying attention to it.

Yep, I've noticed it, too, going into second gear. Also within a gentle breakin. Not in Sport mode. 08 MCS.

I get it sometimes as well. On top of that unless I have my foot on the clutch it...rattles the dash

^^ shouldn't be rattling that much. also keeping your foot even gently on the clutch will seriously expedite the wear of the clutch

What I'm experiencing isn't a rattle, it's a slight vibration that you only feel with your foot as you let out the clutch.

Got that too. I can remember having a similar issue in an Audi A4 and a VW GTI. The Audi cured itself after 10K. The VW got worse and required a new clutch throw-out bearing. I've found that mine won't vibrate if I goose the throttle a bit (RPM match) prior to engaging the clutch. Weird.

Just curious, do you drive mostly highway miles or city miles?

I drive mostly city. And coincidentally, I also used to have an A4 that did the same thing. It does seem to be dependent on RPM when you release the clutch.

If a lot of people are experiencing it, then it's probably normal and just a function of how good you are at matching RPM when switching gears. It's subtle enough that I doubt the dealer will consider it a problem.

I drive 95% Hwy. I thought it might be related to "inactivity" of clutch operation due to mostly Hwy use... but you've blown my theory out of the water.

If some others weigh in on this, we can get a feel for whether or not it is normal or a problem.

If you just barely step on the clutch (don't push it in all the way), you'll feel a vibration in the pedal. I believe this is the flywheel. Maybe there's some clutch material on the flywheel, making the balance ever so slightly off?
