Manually Lowering Window?
Manually Lowering Window?
The motor for my driver-side window went out a few months ago, but since the weather is starting to get nice I'm finally getting around to fixing it. Unfortunately, the window is stuck in the up position, and the Haynes manual says that I have to remove the window in order to replace the window motor. I need to lower the window to get to the bolts to remove the window, but since the motor doesn't work that seems to be a problem. Any suggestions?
...And that's what I get for posting with 3 hours of sleep in the past 60 hours. It's a 1st Gen Mini Cooper S (2002). If any mods swing through here, could I get this moved to the 1st Gen Stock Issues/Problems?
Start with banging on the door between the handle and the speaker while holding the window switch down. That's been known to temporarily 'fix' the motor - apparently the brushes stick.
