I got a rattle that is driving me nuts. It is the door locks on both sides. It started on the ride home from picking it up. It stopped as soon as I locked it. Now it still does it no matter what. I got an appointment next week, but they will probably not find it.

I had a rattle with the secret compartment, dealer said I'm not covered under the "TSB" and left it. I put little rubber feet on the back of the door and tada, no rattle/buzz. I'm starting to worry it's not british cars, but the dealers that give them bad names...

OMG I had this same one, well, I still do. I decided to stop bugging the dealer for rattles (I've had quite a few), so I figured out how to fix this one. I set the auto lock to on so now once I drive over like 5-10 mph, they lock and no more rattle. I can't stand these rattles that are right by my ears, they drive me nuts. Right now the only one that I have sometimes is my garage door opener I have right above me on the side visor. Luckily that can easily be fixed while driving just by pushing it back on securely to the visor

Hope you get it fixed, just tell them you narrowed it down to the door locks area

cool

Glad to hear that one was fixed. With any rattle or buzzing, make sure to check the rear of the car too. I had one annoyin rattle that I swore was coming from the dashboard or door area- turned out to be related to the "shelf" in the boot. Greg

The creaking that developed on the right side of my dashboard a couple of weeks ago was fixed by the dealer today. It was something in the right dashboard vent assembly, a plastic-on-plastic creaking whenever I went over a rough patch of road. Habberstad MINI took care of it, and when I hit a nice rough patch on the way home - no creaking!

I have a buzzing that seems to be coming from the upper passenger door speaker in the morning. I suspect it is a loose screw inside and might try taking the door apart.

I recently developed a fairly loud rattle that seems to be coming from the dash, but I can't find the source. It seems to come and go. It sounds like it is 'right there' (i.e. not in behind the dash), but I've tried touching every possible source and it seems to make no difference at all.

There are a couple of minor ones that don't bother me much... a very quiet one that seems to be from inside the panel on the ceiling with the sunroof and light switches, and another occasional rattle from the secret compartment door that I'm pretty sure I can eliminate with some rubber bumpers.
