I knew parts would be expensive, but it's outrageous that the interior microfilter was $15 six months ago, at 15,000 miles, and is now $32 dollars, at 25,000 miles. I have to pay for these myself because it's a Canadian model and the local dealer doesn't do inspections for nothing. How can this be?
Also, I'd like to hear from other Canadian model owners, about the missing spare tire. I bought a tire, but now I need the hardware to hold it in place. The dealer is talking to Canada about it, but it seems there's a whole "tool kit" unit that I may not need. What parts are needed?

 

I'm not Canadian but I certainly feel your pain! Here in Germany the "FREE service for two years" actually means that anytime you're "FREE" you can get an appointment (for two weeks from now) and it will cost 125 Euro for the service call. It will take about 3.5 hours to complete and if your lucky like me and bring your own oil you will save 15 Euro per quart! I wish I had your Micro filter problem!

My complaint is trivial. I've got no problem with the service. By the way, are you related? The dealership has the same name. They treat me right......... it's the first time I've ever had a "personal service advisor."
Anyway, the mark-up scared me..........wondering how bad it can get in the lifetime of the car. I'm sure there are others that bought from other countries and have or will have sticker-shock with replacement parts.
