any sugestions tires
i want some nice sticky tires but lasting obviously still got goodyears all season ones wondering if anyone had some suggestions for good performance tires on 2002 mini s

For a great wearing ultraperformance tire check out the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 reviews.
They are VERY highly rated for performance and so far I have over 34K on mine and probably at LEAST another 15K to go.
You can even special order them at Costco for about $135 ea for the 205/45-17 size that I have on mine which considering the fact that they LAST I consider a real bargain.

Nokian V's. They are a summer performace tire with great traction wet or dry, excellent braking, impressive wear characteristics, superb steering responce, and enough lateral grip to take on ramps at 70mph. These are the most stable tires at any speed I've ever had, accelerating or deccelerating.

Hydroplaning Indicator
The driving safety indicator (DSI) developed by Nokian Tyres has been refined into an hydroplaning warning indicator. When the tire has only four millimetres of tread depth remaining, the treads drop symbol will disappear, reminding the driver of the increased risk of hydroplaning.
The stream-river principle prevents hydroplaning
Narrow, directional grooves, water controllers and the polished bases of the main grooves remove water effectively from between the road surface and the tire.
Wedge Cap Construction
Combined with the asymmetrical tread pattern, the tires unique wedged tread structure improves both handling and wet grip properties.
Mudstopper and Rim Guard
The Mudstopper prevents the accumulation of sand and dust between the tire and the rim. The 55 series and tires with a lower profile also feature a rim guard which prevents the rim from bruising against pavements.

I replaced the OEM Dunlops with the BF Goodrich runflats, and the treadwear has been great, the grip is good in the summer (about the same as the OEM), but they still have good grip in the cold. I think I paid about $185 a tire.
