Took the MCS to Century Mini (Greenville, SC) this morning for some issues. Here is the list and responsee given by the service dude...

issue: response:
PS noise nature of the beast
stumble we'll check the software
coolant smell we'll check the jug
rattle (tension Pully?) we'll check
water under door during wash we'll check
power door lock problem driver error

the only one I have a problem with is the PS, due to the threads I've seen on MCO. The service team was a pleasure to work with and also they are taking care of a diod recall for the cruise..

Was the dude Jim Pickett?

Howdy, Corbyzz. I also have my MINI in the shop at Century. I've been really pleased with the service I've received so far.

I wouldn't expect resolution on the stumble issue this trip, if you're talking about the sudden momentary loss of power when accelerating from first. MINI is actively working on the issue, but there isn't a fix in most dealer's hands as of yet. Several MCO and MINI2 members have been in testing/fact finding/experimenting programs with engineers in NJ and some have even done field testing with engineers. So, hopefully we'll all have resolution on this issue soon.

Are you having more than the normal whine with the PS?

See ya,
JS

JS,

I think the PS is whinning more than usual, but its been hard to say since I don't drive the car as much as I would like. I bought it for my mom and she drives it in IN, I stole it for the charleston groups run up to Dragon's tail this weekend. She asked me to take into Century for them to look at it.

Jim is the gentleman that took the info and he was very pleasant. Is your mini the one on the rack with the kick butt wheels and the clear tail lights???

Not unless Jim went way, way beyond the call of duty.

Good luck with your car. I go down Weds morning to pick mine up.

See ya,
JS
