I installed the Moss intake filter today, and I must say, it sbsolutely roars! I installed it even though I already had a Pipercross foam intake filter installed, which was great, except the oil used to filter out fine particles dripped all over the transmission case, making it look rather dirty.

It's really hard to compare the two. The Moss filter assembly looks a lot better first of all. Mine is anodized red, and really looks sharp. Plus, everything from the filter to the hose connecting to the throttle body is included, replacing the plastic OEM hose with an aluminum one. Installation was a cinch too.

But the best part occurred when I took it for a test drive. The Pipercross had a nice growl, but this thing positively roars! I pulled up to a loud rice burner, and not only did I smoke him, but I was louder too! Very impressive, and of course the filter is reuseable. It really dresses up the engine compartment nicely. Highly recommended.

How long have you been working for Moss MINI??
Only joking. I am planning to get one for my MCS, as well as a dump valve. Not for performance but for the sound.

Hey, if Moss wants to feed me free parts, I'll be sure to sing my praises loud and clear! So how about that Remus exhaust now, hmmm?

Hey BoyRacer,

Can you let me know if and where you find a dump valve for the Cooper S.

I am interested in one also.

Thanks,

Patrick

Can anyone tell me if putting one of 'dem filters in voids the warranty?

Many thanks,

Man, the warranty thing should be the first thing on a FAQ... you will only void your warranty on a specific part if the aftermarket part is found to be the cause of damage. So, unless the problem can be traced to a bad air intake, you're fine....
