Steering Wheel Off Centre

Hi All

Long time lurker, first time poster I have a 2 month old R56 JCW, 2200km on the clock. Last night I went for a quick run to the shops and noticed the steering wheel off centre to the left by approx 15deg, (just appeared out of nowhere) the power steering is working, the car tracks straight and true, there is no wheel shimmy and no pulling to the left. I have not curbed a wheel or hit any large potholes. The sport button does its job of tightening the steering feel when switched on. Tyre pressures were checked and found the same, and I even drove the car using the spare key fob in an effort to rule out any software glitch, all to no avail. I'm going to take it in tomorrow but any thoughts in the mean time would be appreciated.

It should be a matter of having the tires realigned. They can set the steering wheel positioning at that time. I have a '95 Celica and bought it new and it had the same issue. The dealer fixed it for free.

Thanks for the reply Skye, I'm confident the dealer will be able to sort it, but I'm a bit perplexed by how quickly the problem appeared, one day, the car is fine, the next day...... its all a bit out of the blue as they say.

yes very odd that it just appeared. If the car was factory aligned with the steering wheel off and it was always that way it makes sense. Just happening, well that seems unusual.
