The dealer called to say that my wife's Cooper CVT was fixed. The EML light and then the EP light caused it to be towed in. The dealer said they replaced the "diode kit." At first they said they were replacing the wiring harness. Is this the same thing and has anybody else gotten a new "diode kit"?

Hey minix2 and welcome to MCO, the prime habitat for MINIacs!

I just had my 03 MCS at the dealer over the course of the last 2 weeks, first for replacing a defective speed cluster, and then to replace a defective drivers side window motor and controller.

During these two visits, they first did the diode (1st visit), and on second the wiring harness for the diode, at least this is what I was told. Not sure how the diode could have been done without the harness.

I was told by the dealer that this was a MINI service campaign to address issues with the cruise control. In fact, my cruise control works better now (Thank you MINI USA!!!), in that the +/- buttons will adjust the cruise speed up / down by 1 mph when tapoping them, something that had not worked previously.

This is all I know about a diode and harness service campaign.
