Frozen battery and an inability to open boot.

Okay, a couple things.
I was on a TDY for a month and half and we got some bad weather at home, so I come back and try to unlock my car and it doesn't work with the keys, so I have to manually do it. So I'm wondering how to open the boot to get to my battery (which is undoubtedly discharged because of the crap weather), and I pull that little ring under the back seats, and it unlocks, only my problem is now that I can't open the boot to get to the froze-*** battery. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix what I'm doing wrong? I'm feeling a little irritated, and all I want to do is buy some of the stuff I left in the desert, but I can't.

Help?

Have someone give you a jump. Use the remote positive battery terminal under the bonnet next to the air box. If nothing else you shoud be able to open the boot with a jumper cable to a fresh battery.

My car is an 06 & it has an emergency release handle under the middle of the back seat cushion. Just reach under & pull the handle.

I'm guessing your 03 has one too.

Page 29 shows the location of the hatch release handle.

You need to have someone open the boot as you pull the release under the seat. Its a two man job or use a broom stick to push from the inside as you pull the release.

that's too much work. i'd open the bonnet and hook up a battery to the
+ terminal and - to the strut tower and unlock it.
