Dash/Instrument Lights
Dash/Instrument Lights
Hate to start a new thread on something as minor as this, but it's frustrating:
The left half of my heater control panel- Temp control- no longer lights up. Nothing in the Bentley manual about changing bulbs, the service dept basically said that the bulbs are soldered in and the whole panel sub-assembly must be changed out >What! For a burnt-out bulb?!!<. I'm more than willing to solder in a new bulb, but don't want to start the disassembly process- requiring most of the interior of the car to come out -unless absolutely necessary.
Any hints, help or whatever out there?

thanks

+1. Replace the complete panel. If you start dissembly of the panel, you have chances of ruining other parts of the board.... And be honest, usually by now, if you have updated the cupholder to the newer style on the radio pillar, there is probably some 'coffee / soda pop' spillage on the front face of the panel!!!
Nah, never used the front cupholders for anthing but change and a cell phone. I just get real cranky when I find poor design techniques. That never should have made it past the Quality Assurance department. Dumb.
