Tire pressure
Tire pressure
How many PSI does the tire have to be before the indicator comes on? My tires feel fine, but I havent checked the pressure yet and my exclamation indicator is on, that is for the tires right? Does the indicator come on once it detects that its a couple PSI under what its supposed to be at?
the ! indicator on the tach comes on for a bunch of reasons ( even low gas). The low tire warning is on the speedo. On some R56s it comes on if one wheel rotates at a different speed implying low pressure. On the newer ones there's an actual pressure monitor attached to the valvestem that sets it off.

Plus, the indicator will only come on for tire pressure if 1 tire's pressure is significantly lower than the others, since it measures the difference in rotation, not actual pressure. If all tires lose about the same amount of air, it will never come on.
so i called the dealer and they told me to check the pressure cuz + or - 1 lb can cause it to go off, and they said i cant repair runflats!?!?! I only got 1k miles, is it true we cant repair runflat? If thats the case, ill just buy regular tires.
Just "!" and no other icon? The flat tire monitor icon is a tire silhouette along with the exclamation point. See page 123 in your owner's manual.
If you have "!" alone, it could be what shows on page 117, but then, it would be a "!" in only one display, not both.

It is not true that runflats cannot be repaired. They can. Your dealer is about as knowledgable (or honest) as most Mini dealers, it seems..

If you have rubber valvestems, it means the ABS is sensing one tyre rotating at a different speed than the rest. If you have metal valvestems (Sept onward build) the TPMS is reading tyre pressure and alerting you that one is 25% low.
Runflats generally won't show when they are "low" due to the stiff nature of the sidewall on all run flats. Step one is the check your tyres and add air to the offending one. Check again once a day to see if it happens again, or if you hear a leak after you fill it - you have A Problem.
Runflats can be repaired, but not everyone will do it. Call around to a couple tyre places to ask.

Any other lights on?

No there is only the 2 lights, ill take a pic of it after my car gets checked to see if theres a nail in the tire or not, but it does have the red ( ! ) in the tach, and the one yellow one on the speedomter in yellow, and they both stay on. I cant even see my digital display cause that ! is in the way.
ok, so i checked my tire pressure none of them were at 33psi, as stated on the inside, but the tire was warm. And once i fill the air up to 33psi, should i reset something? Or does the light disappear? And the ( ! ) on the tach is red, it goes away when I switch the setting area, but comes back after about 10 secs, is that normal?

I will spoon feed you:
Step 1. Open glove box.
Step 2. Remove manual.
Step 3. Open manual
Step 4. Read.
Step 5. Follow instructions.

If you are unable to read paper, you can get a .pdf of the manual from ol.minusa.com. That's where I pulled the page numbers for you earlier. If you are unable to use the index, look at the pictures on page 117, and read the explanation. It will even tell you about the colors. Once you have done that, read pages 55-56, and take 10 seconds to reset/recalibrate your FTM sensor as I recommended up above in the thread.
Incidentally, the icon you are seeing is an exclamation point *surrounded* by a tire's profile. What look lilke parentheses are side walls. Under the exclamation point is a flat, horizontal line that represents tread.
If you had spent 3 minutes with your owner's manual, you would have avoided the stress of starting this thread, waiting for answers, calling your dealer, waiting for answers, and you would have solved your problem, yourself.
Do you know the acronym RTFM? It applies here.

If you dont wish to help, you dont need to look here, as I stated I was at work, where I dont have access to the internet, and at lunch my co-worker used my car so I didnt have a chance to get the manual till he came back and my lunch had ended. And I didnt just ask about resetting the car, I also asked if a run flat tire can be plugged/patched. So, please dont comment on this thread is you have nothing else to say.

Stickers seem to vary. Possibly due to the wheel and tire size?
There are 2 stickers on my car, one says 41, one says 38.
