"possible transmission or selector **** error?"

I have had my new MINI for a few weeks now and LOVING IT! About 3 or 4 times I when I have parked and then gone to 'power off' the MINI, I have gotten an error message saying:

"Be sure to select the Park position before leaving your car. Possible fault in transmission or selector ****."

My car has always been in park already when this message comes up. There haven't been any problems with staring or anything after that either, and error message does away when you take the key out. Since it's intermittent (only happens once in a while) I haven't taken it in to get checked out, because I figure it won't do it for me at the dealer, it will wait until I drive home first and then give me the error message.

Anyone getting this error or know what the deal is?

Very strange. I've actually turned my MINI off a couple times before putting it in park yet have never gotten this message. Thankfully however, you can't take the fob out without first putting it in park so I didn't risk my MINI rolling away.
