I let a friend take his family for a ride in Coop last night and of course the shift **** came off again (kinda embarassing.)

I took some o-rings (two of 'em) labeled size 5/8" x 13/16" and put them around the two little tangs that hold the **** on (look inside the ****) so that when replaced on the shifter the fit isn't so flimsy.

When replacing the **** it was much tougher to snap on, and it'll take a lot more force to remove now. Time to go test

Jeff

ps: Also save a sec or two when autocrossing as you won't have to reach down to put the **** in the cup holder during your run!!

Good fix but you could just have it replaced under warranty. Mine grips like a crocodile. I suspect there was an early design or bad batch that has apparently been corrected.

Oh--didn't know about that--thanks for the head's up.

The whalen stuff is beautiful--I'll get one in time.

I got my shift **** replaced under warranty. The new one worked fine and had no problems after that.
But I just got a Whalen Shift machine... and let me tell you... it is nice!

If I was you I'd first have my original shift **** replaced under warranty and then I would get a Whalen Shift Machine...

Good luck!

Juan

More kudo's for the Whalen.... overpriced but man what a nice ****....

Everbody I've shown my **** to has admired it, and they love pulling it off.

Oh wait a minute, what were we talking about?

Ahhh, the joys of molded plastic......

Unless you test something like this frequently, you're bound to get bad batches...temp off a few degrees, too much moisture in the mix, press time off a tad, ad nauseum...
