Passenger Seat - Failure to Slide Fwd
Passenger Seat - Failure to Slide Fwd
Hey all,
2003 Cooper S
I went to install my OEM Euro Armrest last night, and when I went to move the seat forward to loosen the Torx bolt, I realized the seat will not move all the way forward (i.e. as far forward as my driver's seat...practically touching the downtubes).
I grabbed a flashlight and starting putzing around in there, and can see/tell that the sliders (attached to/along with the seat) refuse to slide past the rails (piece bolted to the floor to which the sliders are attached). The seat slides back perfectly fine, but refuses to go beyond that point (front of the rails) when moving back forward. It seems to stop immediately at the point at which the slider would move beyond the rail. Additionally, when holding the lever up to move the seat forward, I can feel that it is only the left side slider/rail combo that comes to an abrupt half...the right side of the seat still wants to move beyond.
I've already got an appointment with Mini at 8:30 tommorrow morning, but I'm eager to use a new part and as of this moment, SOL.
Thoughts?

Problem solved.
Pan-head bolt was positioned upside-down in one of the lower rails, with the threaded portion facing upwards...preventing the seat from sliding past the point in which it was wedged.
