Where to buy an Oil Filter Housing

Hey all,

For those of you that remember, a few weeks ago I had a nightmare when changing my oil in my '03 MCS. The oil by-pass valve popped out just before I was to take my Mini on vacation. I've talked to a couple different Mini service centers and have been finally told that the valve can not be put back in and my only choice is to replace the entire oil filter housing. When I was in Denver I even stopped by and showed a tech and the shop forman what I was talking about. NONE of them had EVER heard of that valve coming out. So I've been so lucky as to be the recipient of a freak accident.

Anyway, I need to get a hold of a new housing. Luckily I work at a college that has a very respectable auto tech program, so I'll be able to get it installed for the cost of a pizza. I just didn't know if there was any place other than a dealer to order one from.

Thanks for any help!

Two maybes

Atlantic British Limited has a lot of parts in their catalog and altho I don't see this one it wouldn't hurt to call....1-800-533-2210

Many of the major BMW part suppliers actually have MINI parts....just put in MINI for the model when searching.... don't flame me...I didn't do it but that's how I found replacement control arm bushings in poly vs the quick disolve rubber.... or how my mechanic did

I'd recommend Classic MINI in Ohio. They give a nice NAM discount & ship fast.

Thanks for the tip, I called them up and got it ordered. Even before the discount they were half of what some of the other part dealers were quoting me!
