I have a '04 MCS w/ 32k and was wondering if after personally putting 23k on the car if this is about par for other owners:


Alignment (steering wheel off center)

Misfire (replaced coil pack)

Sunroof squeaks (replaced rails)

Alignment (steering wheel off center)

Clutch chatters while engaged (defective pressure plate)

Rough idle at times / hunts for about 1 min (Loaded new ECU rom)

Driver window jutters going up (replaced rail)

Passenger window weak seal (adjusted window)

Driver side-marker light loose (replaced - retaining clip broke)

Battery died (replaced)

Alignment (steering wheel off center)

Passenger window doesn’t work (motor seized – replaced)

Dashboard rattle (removed dash & installed anti-rattle kit)

Fuel gauge drops to empty (replace in-tank sensors)

Bushing squeak when turning wheel (replaced front strut bushings)

A/C compressor whines above 3k rpm (compressor replaced)

...sounds like you got a lemon. I've got 34K on an '05' and though I've had a couple issues that the dealer took care of under warranty and a few rattles, the list is nowhere as long as yours.

 

Sounds like you've had your share of problems.
A few minor things happened in my 05 MCS all within the first 6 months. The only problem of note was the supercharger developing a noisy rattle. It was replace under warranty. Of the nit picky things, the fan blower didn't work, the sunroof rattled, the driver seat back fell off and the top passenger side door speaker came loose. They were all fixed under warranty once and MINI service went to lengths to ensure they would not happen again. Now the service department complains because I rarely go back except for routine maintenance. The car has been outright reliable.
