In for Service? Loaner???

Hey all,

I am curious about the "loaners" people get when their mini is in for service. Whats the story with that? The two dealers near me have never heard of such a thing...they both say i can rent a car at a "discounted" rate.

And, they only will drive me 7 miles in their shuttle....grrr...

The policy varies from dealer to dealer. However, if you didn't purchase your Mini from the dealer you are having it serviced at, you can almost be assured that they will not provide a loaner.

My dealer has loaners as long as you purchased the vehicle from them.

I adopted my MINI. It is serviced at the same dealer (Otto's) that sold the MINI to the original owners. Otto's provided me a free loaner during my first service! Way To Go - Otto's!!!!!!

It is a dealer-by-dealer policy. I was very happy to have a dealer-paid rental and then a loaner from a dealer I didn't purchase the vehicle from, but we did purchase my wifes MINI from them. That dealer seems to be very good about that. The dealer I purchased from (125 miles further away than the dealer I took it to) did mention that they will put you in a loaner to do shopping while you get maintenance, but they don't offer loaners for warranty repair.

MINI of The Woodlands (Houston area) provides loaners at least for cars purchased there. True of warranty work, too.

My dealer, MINI of Towson (Md.) provides MINI loaners, if you purchased from them. Very good dealer.

The local dealer in Greenville, SC (Century) does not provide loaners. They don't provide them for their BMW customers either.

Yup, that's the story. It's up to the individual dealership.

I got a loaner from Motor City MINI when I was in for scheduled service, and I did not buy my car from them.

east bay bmw/mini (pleasanton, calif.) gave me one, but only after an expected two-hour job turned into a four-hour job.

The dealer in Cincinnati gives BMW loaners or free renatl cars if they're out of those. I bought my car there so I don't know if the policy's different if you didn't.

Hey Squirlz, I went to high school in Okemos!
