Windshield problem

Anyone else have a problem with the windshield cracking down at the lower corner. I have NO signs of impact. Very Weird. Started at the lower passenger side corner and has worked its way up.
Thanks for any input.

What year is your Mini? Early models (2002 - 2004) had a lot of issues with windshields cracking for no apparent reason. The problem has died down since Mini upgraded the glass and a lot of people went to aftermarket sources.

Take it back to the Dealer, it's probably a stress crack and should be under warranty. Just make sure it's not from a stone chip.

Dealer agreed to replace the windshield after close scrutinization by the service manager. He asked me how many miles are on my 07. What the hell does that have to do with a stress crack. He acted like it was his money that was replacing it. Arrogant pr##k. When he said that he would replace it, I said, "you mean Mini will replace it".
Unbelievable.

Be thankful that they are replacing it on their dime. Usually they do the 'pen' test and manage to find some microscopic chip to 'explain' the crack.

I seem to also have a stress crack on mine. It cracked right on the upper side of the passenger side. Nothing hit it and I just saw noticed it from one day to the other. I hope they don't give me any trouble about replacing it. The dealer had to re-install the windshield b/c it wasn't properly installed from the factory and now I think that might've been the cause of it.
