Wind noise from crooked door windows?

As mentioned by others, I have had this driver side window wind/rattle noise that gets especially annoying when driving over 60 mph. The door frame seals seem good. I have not tried the masking tape test yet, but I noticed that the mini label on the window appears crooked.

The driver side window seems tilted a little to the left or counterclockwise (looking from outside) as compared to the passenger side window. There is a wider gap and less overlap with the door frame seal near the top on the right side of the window (again looking from outside). The passenger side is even throughout.

Though just milimeters of difference, I think this may be the source of the noise/rattle, especially since it varies on a bumpy road.

Anyone else notice this? Anyone have experience adjusting their window alignment? I am a bit afraid to mention this to the dealer and have them make things worse.

I love this car, but this noise is driving me crazy.

I also had wind noise going over 60mph and it turned out to be the windshield that was not installed properly at the factory. The dealer re-installed it and the car has been noise free since then. I'm not saying this is the prob., but it also came from the passenger side.

I would take it to the dealer and have them take a look at it. Run a search on this forum to see which service dpt is most reliable in your area.

Good luck!

Finally took my car to the dealer. They adjusted the window and now it lies straight like the other side. The noise seems quieter but not gone. Now I think I just hear normal wind turbulence vs. a leak. I have not driven out of the nyc area on a quieter highway, yet.

I don't know if this was there before, but I noticed that the beltline trim stuck out 3 millimeters compared to the rear panel. Once again, the passenger side looks perfectly aligned but not the driver side. I had no idea owning a mini cooper would make me so OCD.

As I was leaving, one mile away from the dealership and late to work, my check engine light came on. Hopefully this is just the software bug I read about. Now I have to schedule another dealer appointment.

Should I have them align the beltline trim? I'm afraid they will mess with the door and make things worse.
