I wish I never bought it!
He lives in the SF Bay Area...
whether it's the hills of the city, of the hills out of the city, the area is hard on tires and brakes! For, uh, enthusiastic driving.

ps, lemon laws very by state. Check you local state laws for the specific definitions and limitations.

Dr. O, if you are talking about Max, he lives in the OC, not in the bay area. And yeah, spirited driving will wear down plenty of wheels and brakes, eh?
Wow. Big debate eh? I appreciate the defense.. lol.
To answer the question a few asked, the Subaru was a reposession. It has been carfaxed, and I do bodywork so I knew what to look for when it came to searching for that.
I think Morristown Mini was relieved to see me roll up in the Legacy because man... I raised hell the other day...
This was my first brand new car so the NHTSA complaint idea didnt occur to me. I didnt want to do all the paperwork and such associated with the Lemon Law, additionally I didnt have the time. I work full time and am also a full time college student with places to get to.
Too much... lol...
Lol.. Im glad someone picked that up after this remark:
Which also made this remark extremely ironic:
LOL!

I think another factor responsible for the relatively low complaint factor is a phenominon reflected often in NAM: The MINI attracts enthusiasts more than the typical car
Agreed. I work on my other cars often, and have had many Subarus, Mercedes ML, Miata, and have driven other Minis owned by family members
.... willing to accept the car's ills as the price of owning a MINI.
I bought the car for hopes of a fairly inexpensive daily A to B commuter (thats why I did not get the S or a convt) Windshields, Ill accept, but poor build quality on my particular unit was just too much. Let it be someone else's acceptance, and not my trouble, especially if they are very in love with the car. I loved it too, just not that much...
....Much like the Beetle fans of yore were willing to live with losing races to snails and freezing in the winter...
LOL! Why do they keep driving them? I always wondered!
Most of MINI's issues are not that significant, but the situation holds...
Thats why I dont drive my 1992 SVX daily! Any issue was significant with which I had to take time off driving it, other than scheduled maintenence and wear and tear (incl windshields, because I work at Diamond)

Ok, I gotta ask.. You no longer own the Mini, so why spend your time hanging out in a Mini forum? Won't your time be better spent over in the Subaru groups bashing your Mini? (Sorry, but that's how it normally works..)
I'm not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing.. (I wouldn't - I would have most definitely pursued a lemon-law buy-back before I threw in the towel and gave the money away) - but I see nothing to be gained by your remaining an active member of this forum. All you're likely to do is tell us how bad you hated the car.. while the majority of us are completely satisfied with ours.
You made a comment above about how glad the Mini dealer was to see you drive thru in your new (used) 'bu.. Do you really think they care? They know they won't see you again.. and life will go on w/o you. They have a business to run, and you are no longer part of it. You took away their opportunity to make it right. I just feel sorry for the poor lout who's going to end up with your Mini..
No foul.. just my .02 cents - and we all know what that's worth..
It's the internet, and it's free.. so post away.. if you must.
Edit: Per your most recent post above - with the photo - are you sure that isn't a Honda Accord?..

why not, just because I dont have a mini anymore doesnt mean im not allowed to defend myself from childish jabs? Lancer owners hang out in Subaru clubs because they made friends. I still have interest in the Mini, just not the base cooper r56 :-P I love the classic minis.
So what, you get bad eggs sometimes. I wasnt so lucky, thats all.
So now I got a car I love to drive for cheaper than one I wished would disappear the second week I had it! lol why not, yanno.
The Honda Accord is at my mothers house... Clearly, this looks more like a Camry :-P.
Again, not my enthusiast car, just for a daily, but I love it

Hey, folks who have or have had MINIs/Minis or who like MINIs/Minis, or the people who own them/fancy them, are all welcome on NAM.
Just because Mike sold his MINI, it doesn't mean he needs to flee the site!
Mike, your new Legacy looks nice. I hope you enjoy it!
You are always welcome here, and you never know: you just may get another MINI in the future.

I'm sorry to hear of your rotten luck with the MINI.
I completely love mine, and already have plans for another when that time comes (hopefully not for years to come).
Going to school, working and then having to deal with a lemon would be enough to send most anyone running.
It sounds like your heart has been with Subaru for quite sometime, and its good that you at least got to experience MINI ownership, albeit briefly. I hope you understand that you ended up with a bad car from the get-go, which can be experienced no matter the brand. It's unfortunate that it happens, but it does.
I am glad that you came across the beautiful Subaru you purchased, perhaps it was fate that led you back in that direction?
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck in your motoring future, whether that be in a Subaru, or any other car that may strike your fancy.

OK, I got it now. Last night watching a re-run of the Daily Show and there were some candidates at a gay, lesbian equal rights thing, and there was the logo. So it has to do with gay, lesbian, and transgender equal rights movement. But looking through this thread I don't get the point about that sticker being ironic. But to everyones interpretation I guess.
Oh and enjoy your new Subbie, thats a make that has been on my list for quite a while. Too bad I really want the STi versions, which mean even more money than the MC I just got.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the Mini. It happens with every car manufacturer. Good luck with the new car.
I was called on the carpet for my "ball and chain" remark a couple times earlier in the thread, and this remark topped it,
sarcastically:
and my car even bears the logo of the lgbt equal rights movement
Its a sticker thats a little less obnoxious than having a big rainbow on the back of my car.
I just thought it was amusing. Sorry everyone didnt get it.
