Hi. New to the site and need some info. I have an 05 with about 35k on the speedo. My air bag keeps popping. Well not really. The MINI badge in the wheel which holds the airbag in keeps popping out. The dealer keeps replacing it but this is getting to be a pain. At this point I want a new wheel but I am a little hesitant that this will solve my problem. Anyone else ever have this problem and have any comments on it? Thanks.

 

If you do a search you will find threads on this all too common problem. My wife's '05 has had the airbag unit replaced twice because of the emblem curling up and the right edge is raised up again. My '06 doesn't have an issue with it (knock loudly on wood). It's hard to believe that something so stupid isn't properly fixed. Other than the original clock in my wife's '05 constantly losing time (another common '05 problem and the replacement has been fine), both MINI's have been trouble free.
