Cruise control over redlines engine!!

Has anyone seen this?
2006 MCC stick
When on CC and disengaging it with the I/O button and at the same time pressing the clutch pedal, you can get a condition that causes the engine to go over redline controlled by the cc!!! Only way to stop is to press the brake pedal.

Hardly seems like a mystery to me. It takes a moment for the cc to disengage. If you put in the clutch at any speed, the revs will go up significantly. However, after a slight delay over redline, the engine management system should cut back power to bring it under redline.

Yeah, the ECU programming seems to have a few conditions for which the engineers didn't plan. On the MCSA, if you give it full throttle to the point where you activate the click down on the auto trans, it won't upshift. It will keep revving till you take your foot off the gas. Pretty dumb...

On every stick shift car that I have ever owned, when the clutch is depressed, the cruise control immediately disengages.

If you activate the "click" it's supposed to downshift, not upshift, which, of course will increase revs. But I would imagine the computer would prevent or limit over red-line.

The '88 Honda Accord I owned at one point would disengage the CC when the clutch was pressed, but apparently it was slow as it too would rev the engine briefly (not even close to redlining though).
