i don't know if this is a problem or not as i have no reliased it was there before, but before i turn on the engine when all the lights in the dashboard are on e.g. handbreak etc there EML light and the can of oil appears on the dashboard. but once the engine is on the lights go off? is it meant to do that? or is there a problem?

please if anyone knows can you reply back please... as i may need to give mini a call if this is a serious problem.

Yes, completely normal. As part of the startup process, the car goes through a self test. During this self test, the warning lights all are turned on. All modern cars do this on startup.
