Oil leaking out of the bonnet

I noticed on Dori there are 4 spots where it looks like oil leaking from under the bonnet. After examining it closer it's some sort of Wax build up that is melting from the heat of the engine. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what is the wax stuff, where is it coming from and how do ya get rid of it???

My car and my wife's car (both cabrios) did the same thing for the first 6 months. I used a little extra soap when washing this area and evetually it stopped.

They coat the cars BMW/MINI and every other car that comes from BMW with a thick coat of wax, then they wash it off at the VDC, thats the residue. It keeps your MINI from the elements of travel on the high sea!

Runny Nose

My SA tells me all MINI's come with a runny nose. It is a substance called cosmaline (probably not spelled right). If you were ever in the military you know it is a oil based preservative that is put on parts to prevent corrosion. They cleaned it and said it may take 3 or trips to get the nose to stop running.
