Tip of the hat to Autohaus Service

Well...contrary to the earlier post, I just had a great experience with these guys. As a lot of you may know from seeing and hearing my car before, I have a lot of modifications done to it, including electrical and engine management.

Anyways, I had been having some difficulties recently. To start, I had the airbag light on, which there was a recall for. Second, my power steering worked or didn't work when ever it felt like it...and if any of you know what that is like in the MINI, it is almost impossible to drive like that. The worst of my problems was that I kept getting all sorts of different check enginge light related codes and EML lights where my car would go into limp mode. Couldn't for the life of me figure it out, despite the fact that i have a code scanner. It frustrated me to the point of taking it to the dealer and paying them to scan it for me so I could figure this out. And btw...I am long past warranty at just shy of 70k miles.

I took my car in last friday morning and dropped it off. I called later that afternoon to make sure that they were not going to run up a bill on me without consulting me first. When I called, I got a nice suprise... the service consultant mentioned that all of the work was written up as warranty work. I then asked if they would be finished with it the same day and they said no, and I ended up going in an picking up a free loaner.

Long story short, they replaced my airbag connectors (which was supposed to be free due to recall), the power steering pump and it's wiring harness and my throttle body - this was the root of my problems...the valve kept sticking which apparently throws lots of strange codes and is hard to decipher with a standard obd2 scanner. They pretty much completed over a thousand dollars worth of work and gave me a free loaner car on my 02 MC which is rather heavily modified when I was almost 20,000 miles out of warranty.

I was blown away and extremely happy with the whole deal. I never would have thought they would have taken care of all that under my warranty, which ran out over 19 thousand miles ago. So....I give a big 'ole tip of the hat to Autohaus MINI service. Just thought I would share that with you all. Just got my car back yesterday and was very happy.
