Where to purchase a MINI?
Where to purchase a MINI?
I saw the thread about your local MINI dealer's non-support of your group, I was sorry to hear about that. I am curious about your other experiences with MINI of St. Louis as I am making plans to shed my 'virtual' MINI status and get a real MINI sometime in the near future. I know that MINI of St. Louis charges above MSRP, did that encourage any of you to buy from an out-of-town dealer? I would be interested in knowing what dealers you recommend. What kind of attention do you get when you take your MINI in for service in St. Louis?
I'm sure most of you did buy your MINI's in St. Louis, do you get any special attention when you take your MINI in for service? Do you get a loaner car if the repairs take awhile? Do you get a higher priority when you make a service appointment? I am interested in any purchase or service experience you might care to share.
If you do not want to post to this thread, feel free to drop me a private message. Thanks!

I just picked up my second MINI from Mini of St Louis (last night) and I am as satisfied with them the second time as I was the first. I bought a 03 MCS off the lot the first time and ordered my 05 MCSC. I have only had to deal with the service department twice, but I was satisifed there too. I live over 100 miles from the dealership, so both times I just waited for the service to be performed. I think they allow you to get a car from Enterprise (which is just down the street) at their expense if you request one at the same time you make an appt for the service call, but I didn't bother.
Hopefully someone else will reply who did not purchase from Mini of St Louis, but has had their service work done there. I can say one thing, when I did call for my first 10,000 mile service call, I was asked if I bought the car from them. I know that shouldn't matter, but I was asked.
I hope this helped, but you need to hear other experiences as well.
Regards,
Linda

I purchased my 03 MCS at MINI of Saint Louis and I am satisfied in every respect, great to do business with. They charge over MSRP but how much is your time worth and getting to another town or having it shipped going to cost you? Tony Jones has been in sales there the longest, I'd talk to him. The gentleman I bought my car from is no longer there. Every one has always treated me "like a customer" and have gone above board to make me happy.
That goes for the service department too.

I live literally 1 mile from MNI of St. Louis but I bought my car from an out of town dealer because I was able to save a substantial amount of money. Plus the dealer threw in some extras to sweeten the deal further.
I have only had one warranty service visit and the experience was fine. I was also asked if I purchased the car there or not. I guess if I need a loaner (I never will) they will probably turn me down. Or maybe they put the junior mechanic to work on my MINI!

Same here, Brad. I saved a considerable amount of money on my Cabrio by going out of town. I haven't needed any service yet & the loaner car isn't a big deal. I tried to appeal to them when I started looking at Cabrios but they were not interested even though I had bought my first MINI from them. Perhaps if I had "deep pockets" or had bought a loaded Cabrio, I might have got their attention. I have no ax to grind with them. To each his own.
