Window tint

Anyone have a recommendation for a good window tinting shop in StL area?

Try Clear Auto Bra. http://www.ultrashieldofstl.com/
Mark is very helpful and works with many of us MINI owners.

We've used Total Tinting in O'Fallon, MO for 3 of our vehicles...they do a good job. In/out in one day, etc.

If you don't mind me asking... Any idea about how much it (ballpark figure) would cost to get the 3 back windows tinted? I don't want the driver or passenger door done

Thanks, this is the guy my father used to do his Porsche. I know he does good work. I've seen his work. Thanks for the info!

I think it was about 160 to do our MINI, including the fronts, so my guess it should come in south of that.

Thanks for the info. I'm assuming they did a wonderful job for you. Your car looks great. What's the percentage you went with?

Yes, they do a really nice job...we've had our Mazda 5, Z06, and now MINI all done by them.

My MINI has Missouri legal 35% on the front sides, and 20% on the rear and back...they say that's the most common "recipe" that most folks ask for. They offer a 5% "limo tint" that's just about black, a bit hard to see out at night!

Yes, I don't want the limo tint I hate it when you can see who's driving and I do want to see out for sure. For now at least, I'll start with just the rears for me and we'll see how it goes..maybe I'll add the driver and passenger later but with the car already being black I'lll need to think about it awhile. I think if I do the back it'll look nice and help to keep from seeing what's stored in back etc...thanks for your reply that was very helpful

Sorry to revive an old thread but I am planning on getting my windows tinted in the next few weeks in the Stl area and I was wondering if anybody has had experience with The Tint Guys over in St. Charles? They are having a groupon right now, $150 for $300 worth including 35% Suntek Carbon XP tint all around, plus the windshield strip tint and same day roll-down service for doors (no idea what that means).

I got mine tinted near Kirkwood for $150 and it came out great. This is my 2nd car done by them and both came out very nice.

I have an appointment with the Tint Guys in St. Charles this Friday so I'll return to give an update on how it went.

I'm back...and extremely pleased with the Tint Guy!! They did an awesome job on the Mini, Suntek Carbon XP 35% all the way around. They told me it would take 2.5-3 hours but I got it back in only an hour and a half! Wow :D extremely good customer service. AND, the tint looks nearly flawless even only 2 days after application, very few bubbles, no scratches...amazing. Here are some before/after pics for you guys.

I definitely recommend the Tint Guy in St. Charles if anybody needs a window tint - be aware though usually their price for Carbon XP is pretty high, I won't post it here though.
