Rebuild in st. louis

Hi! Come august i'd like to get my R53 engine rebuilt - I'm looking to see if anyone in the area has had this done at any local shops.

I'm really interested in getting the eninge beefed up, but a stock rebuild will do as well.

If anyone has some info i'd be grateful.

P.S. i thought about way works and revolution motors but i was hoping to deal in person.

Thanks.

When you say rebuild, are you talking about complete engine or bottom or top end.
How many miles?
A top end job with ported head, cam, header, and exhaust will usually provide more than enough power.
Reduction pulleys, etc.

If you wanna beef it up, I have done most of the normal mods, on the R53 and I work for beer.

I am a Bimmer mec by trade, but I cant keep my hands off of my own car, let me know if you have questions.

Vollgas - Pretty much i'm wanting the whole thing, new rebuild on the bottom end, and the head gone threw, possibly a rebuilt sc. I'd like to make it faster but i guess i'll see what the budget is. Thats why i wanted to start fishing for prices now so i could get my head around what kind of money i'll need. I would do the install my self if it meant saving me around a grand but if theres a shop that'll do the install cheaper then that i might jsut pay to have it all done.

05cooper - I do want to beef it up for sure, but it will definitly need to be gone threw before i'd consider it relaible in that state - just turned 122,000 and they have been rough miles. Let me know if you have anythoughts or know shops around here that do the work.

Closest shops that won't charge an arm or leg are Way in Atlanta GA, or Detroit tune in MI.

I heard u can get 20% off with STLMINI if you are in the stl club, but at what your looking at is prolly a look thought of your top end, and a clutch.

Well i was hoping for a rebuild that would bring me a few more ponies ya know. Plus i want to start over with a rebuild, i bought the car used and i would like to see my mini continue it's use for at least the next 5 years so i figured a complete rebuild would be in order - and yes a clutch as well.
