I've been showing my cars for the last 4 years and never had a problem. Your car won't be roped off or anything, but the attendees are respectful. I have never seen small kids running amok at the show and I have been attending since 2002 or so.
I am very picky about my cars and have never worried about showing. Also, there are always club members milling around to help keep an eye on things.
If the show bothers you, parking the car in anywhere in public should bother you more.
Good point on the parking (I'm the guy that parks at the far reaches) I'm sure the lot will be jammed.
Appreciate sharing your experience and talking me off the ledge
If you are, you got an email from Dan this morning to say there are only six. That's why I posted earlier.
Ah, OK. So, I guess we may be more than six now.
Last year, I think there were also less than ten , so we were not eligible for the 'Best of Marque' category, but Mick's classic Mini won Best in Show!
As far as damages are concerned, there will be 100s of cars there... some worth over $1,000,000. The organizers are very aware of this and make all efforts possible to space the cars and make sure people know not to touch the cars.
That said, they can only do so much. Whenever I take my car to the show (I hesitate to use the work Show as verb when it comes to my cars) I hang around it/them and watch. I especially watch the classic mini because the Mirrors are so close to the ground that little ones are often tempted to grab them.
We get in early to set up, take your tour of the place before it opens and then get back to your car.
Yes, the little ones tend to get drawn to the classic Minis and probably have a strong desire to crawl into one.
See you all on Sunday!
Since my mini is far from perfect, I usually don't mind letting people/kids sit in my car. I tell them to make sure they don't touch anything but the actual steering wheel. I also explain that most people aren't so willing to allow people in their cars so don't assume anything.

Hi, I'm new to St. Louis and will be attending the auto show tomorrow. I have an '06 Checkmate Hardtop but wasn't able to enter into the carshow. Hope to see y'all there.

If it's not yet full, you can pay as you enter tomorrow.
Are we allowed to set up pop up tents.
Its supposed to be 90deg tomorrow. Thats a long time for a Scottish guy to be sitting in the sun.
There are usually several tents set up, but I'm not sure if you need to get approval/permission from the organizers. If the tent is flimsy or not anchored properly it might get blown on to a car and get someone upset.
Congrats to Doug Travis for taking best of Marque!
+1 on that one Doug!! That is a sweet looking classic!! The guys that were working days on Sunday told me how nice it looked. I told them last night you Best of Marque, and they were not surprised!!
I will buy you a beer when I see you since I wasn't there to pat you on the back!
