Can the MINI take this treatment?
Who said anything about ovals? Don't be so quick to
about something you obviously don't know anything about.

It's also not about racing or "being an Indy 500 driver." Anyone who is curious about it can see what a Track Day or Driver's School is all about at the following link:

The best things about doing a HPDE (High Performance Driving Event):
- Learn car control skills that make you a safer driver on the street
- Safely explore the limits of your car and skills without endangering others on public roads
-Have a lot of fun and meet other car people
The best effect I've seen is letting people (me included) do their aggressive/fast driving in a safe environment, and therefore driving slower and safer on the street.
Mike and I will be talking about the HPDE experience at the tech event, to hopefully get more MINI club members involved.

Top Gear did a special where a gal driving a Ford Transit van drove the Nurburgring in just over 10 minutes.
10 minutes for that track in a MINI seems sort of slow if you ask me... I doubt that was hard on the cars at all.
Here's the van going around the Nurburgring.

Sabine Schmitz = Hottie!
But she has been around that track 18000 times (I believe that is what she said). There are several vids of her in her BMW doing about the same time. So I those guys in the mini's did pretty well!
