Get that MINI on the track! Part II - BMW CCA DE 10/31-11/2
In addition to the PCA school 9/27-9/28, the BMW CCA is hosting a 3-day driving school called "Frost on the Pumpkin" from Fri. Oct. 31 - Sun Nov. 2.
The cost is $300 for the weekend and you don't have to be a BMW Club member to drive. For instructors and approved advanced students, for an additional $125, you can drive on Friday as well.
Required are a recent brake fluid change, a free tech inspection by Reid Vann in Rock Hill, and a SN2000 helmet - as well as a desire to get your adrenaline flowing!

Hope to see you all there!

These are a blast!!! If you haven't done a DE, it's time to dive in and really learn what your MINI is made of.
I've been doing these in my M3 for years. Now that I have my JCW I can't wait to see what's different and what's the same.

There are rumors that this event is/will be cancelled. This is untrue - the 3-day event is still a go.

Edit: Most recent status from 10am today from our Driving Events Coordinator/VP (actually, I counted and there are now 28 drivers registered):
We have canceled nothing but are putting a burr under people's saddles to register. We can't be surprised at the last minute that we have a low turnout. If we get a substantial number of people for Saturday and Sunday and also more than the 5 people currently registered for Friday, then the entire three day weekend is a go and it should pay for itself. If we end up with a mediocre turnout (less than 50) for the weekend, we can still make a go of it financially, but will look to see if Friday can support itself or come close. Ideally we need 25 or more drivers for Friday for it to start to be revenue neutral.
FYI Current Status: 25 drivers, 1 Driving Expereince, 14 instructors. These numbers need to at least double!!
The club is actively pushing this to come off, but we do need you guys to spread the word and recruit. Tell everyone you know about this. We understand about economic hardships and other issues (trust me on that one!) but we need to encourage all those fence sitters and newcomers to participate. In that spirit, the requirement for BMW club membership is also being relaxed for 1st time participants. We'd prefer that you were a member, but won't require it.

WOW! For those of you who thought about coming out to the BMWCCA Frost on the Pumpkin Track Day last weekend boy did you miss out!
We had a great turnout, AMAZING weather and a whole lot of fun.
Aaron and I will let you all know the 2009 track events as soon as we find out so you can get that MINI on the track!
Meanwhile, here's a few pics:
