This is not a STLMINI club event, but I belong to the Kirkwood Optimist club, and we work the security for the event. We marshal the field where the balloons take off from. What is involved is keeping the public off the field once it is closed for take off.

So what do you get by volunteering, well you get to stand next to all the balloons as they lift off, like right next to them, the Energizer Bunny almost stepped on Lois last year. The when it is all over we do beverages, and grill up some great Brats.

So if you can't make it to the winery run, PM me and let me know if you want to join us. I'll post times, locations as I get the info. But plan on being at the Forest Park soccer fields around noon.

What times are people needed? Is parking provided?

 

Parking is not provided, but because we have to be there around noon, you can park quite close. I'll be posting more info in the next couple of days, but we a usually done by about 6, after we eat.
