Reception Problem
Reception Problem
Ok, Well I ran into my first Cooper problem. I am sure it is an easy fix... Hopefully. All the sudden my radio reception just went bad. So I ordered a stubby antenna and that didn't help, So any ideas?
You mean the MINI has a radio? I thought most people just listened to the sound of the engine
Somewhere between the antenna and the head unit a wire has come loose. If your car is still under warranty, let the dealer find it. If not, look behind the head unit and see if the antenna wire has come loose.
Or, just get an ipod and you will forget that radio even existed. To this day I have never programmed any radio stations in my head unit.

Well I am getting an aftermarket headunit soon, but I would like to try and solve the problem if I can... So with what you said in mind is it a big ordeal to get the headunit out?
To get the headunit out, you have to remove the downtubes. In the 02-04s, you just take out the 4 screws, and they come out. In the 05-06 you have to remove the center console because the tubes slide out the bottom. None of it is hard, but it takes a little bit of time, and the space can be cramped at time.
