I am sorry, Mini of Universal always makes me laugh. I almost sued them once due to the injury I sustained from passing out when told that they wanted $178 for a body colored shift ****. I just couldn't find Jackie Child's number.

Anyway, call anyone else. Any reputable glass shop can do it. Should cost you about $350 give, or take.

Are there any other MINI owners who are sick and tired of being bent over by the dealers when it comes to cost of installation or repairs? My MCS isn't even here, and I dread the fight I am going to have when it does need something installed or repaired. These dealerships charge us these outrageous installation fee's because they know we will pay it. Have you guys heard of the CSR? BMW has it. You evaluate the service and your experience. If a dealership is providing poor service or abusing their customers by charging above and beyond what is reasonable, they should be held responsible. The AskMINI should be aware. As consumers, we need to stand up for ourselves. Just because they tell you they charge a set fee, doesn't mean you need to pay it. All you have to do is your homework and confront the dealership when they are over charging. There was a porsche/audi dealership in Santa Monica a few yrs back. Porsche pulled their cars from that dealership due to the large number of customer complaints. The dealership closed down. Oooohh.. they just make me mad! quick someone give me some chocolate!

Depending on who your insurance company is you can get a glass endorsement for that, which only costs you $100 out of your pocket.

I know Farmers has a second endorsement that is an OEM endorsement so you could get OEM Mini Glass for $100. (Which is must have if you leased yours)

I messed up and meant safelite. Not sure if you saw that or not.

And, they do charge a bit more for the auto sensing windshield, but it's way less than what the dealer charges.

mine isn't, but I think you can ask for it. You might want to give them a call about it.

I'm really bad at remembering names/faces, so if you say we met, I believe you!
