Who Is Your Detail Guy? ("inland empire")

I don't have access to the right environment/conditions to do the complete detailing process (wash, clay bar, wax, polish, etc) myself. I'd like to just pay a pro, yet (understandably) I don't feel comfortable letting "just anyone" take a PC/buffer to my brand new car (especially since Octane Guy is now my benchmark/expectation!)

So, tell me I.E.- "Who is your "detail guy/girl"?"

I want that ShowCarGarage shine too! Just not enough to drive to L.A. (*grin*).

I am! I went to SCG and ordered the Corvette video on how to use the orbital correctly. It's 2.5 hours of pure genius instruction. Most everything you need is the orbital, some product, a driveway and garage. Oh and a day to get it done right. It takes some dedication, but the IE is devoid of detailers I trust. A key question to begin a discussion of someone detailing your car would be to ask them if they know what a grit guard is for. If they get that one right, move on to harder questions.

I do my own too!

All of the clubs in SoCal have the occasional detail day at Meguairs. You should watch for those, they are great!

I have used a professional detailer before, but they are in Newport Beach near my office. Might be a bit far for you. The name is Steves Detailing and they do pretty good work, especially on the interior.

or, find a self serve wash, late in the day, and take your bucket. Don't wash that way during 'rush' hours, you'll upset the owners. But, if it's a 24 hr place, no sweat. Just don't use the brush there. Lord only knows where those things have been
