Santa Barbara MINI work.
For years I took my 325 to Granny's Garage; they are honest and good. I have heard it's where local people are referred to after their BMW warranty is up. I actually just recently took my Mini to him and he said he's doing several a month now as everyone is starting to come out of warranty. He only does BMWs and Mercedes, and now Mini. I highly recommend him for repair and maintenance, but have no idea if he does mods. You could call and ask, owner's name is Kurt and the receptionist's name is Karen, 805.965.8420.
There is also Central Coast Coopers in Ventura/Oxnard. They do mods there and I'm pretty sure some other NAM members have had work done there.
I've gotten parts at Moss Mini in Goleta, but didn't think they had any kind of shop...maybe they do. It seemed like it was just a storefront. You could certainly buy a lot of the mods you want there and save a lot on shipping.
Best of luck
if you're in SB, i'm sure i'll see you round town
