coming over from the motorcycle world to MINIs, I wave at every MINI that I see. Unfortunately, the number of MINI drivers that wave back has been minimal. I actually get more nods from the motorcycle crowd when I drive the MINI than waves from other MINI drivers. It's a little frustrating but I will continue to wave...BTW, I do own a Cabrio..PW

If you live on Long Island, don't feel bad - nobody waves.

 

I've pretty much given up on waving on the westside. I still try to make eye contact with other MINI drivers that I come across, but 99% of the time no connection is made. Oh well.

I did get a wave from a guy driving Sir Geoffrey's twin in Santa Monica the other day. That was nice.

 

Reminds me of when I had my first MG....30 something years ago. I waved to all MGs then and I wave to all MINIs......I don't worry about who waves back.

 

I own a cabrio. I always wave. Most times I get a wave back. I have never actually driven past another cabrio so I guess 100% of the non-wavebacks I get are from hardtops. I guess that shoots your theories all to hella

 

We own a cabrio and we always wave when we can, sometimes in OC traffic it's a bit tricky. But when it's open road and we see a MINI, we make a bee-line to it so we can wave or give the thumbs up sign. If they don't wave back, we make 3 passes and sometimes circle them in case they have tunnel vision.

We have noticed that we get more waves from MINI cabrio owners when they aren't moving and when they're tops are down.

 

I used to own a Jeep and waved at almost ever Jeep I ever saw so i've carried that down to my MINI and wave at every MINI I see and sadly don't get very many waves back...

but i remember reading something in a thread on a Jeep fourm back in the day about waving dieing... and someone said "I wave at the Jeep, not the owner, if the owner wants to wave at my Jeep than great, if not their Jeep still deserves a wave" and i've used that mentality since...

I wave at the MINI not the driver, if they want to wave to my MINI even better

 

I stopped waving for a while when a couple of Minis didn't wave back, (one of them was a cabrio MCS Orange with blue top)
Then yesterday on my way home from work I got waves from all the Minis I saw alonge the way, it made my day and returned my faith on the WAVE!

 

I received a crazy wave from the passenger of a cabrio last Saturday. My first wave!

 

I promise that once I take delivery, I will wave like a madman!
