So i have a friend that drives a pretty fast Ford Focus who has informed me that lately there has been battles at willow going on for a while of mini owners vs focus owners and he has told me that the mini drivers have been gettin spanked is this true?

 

i read some forums on here i see us saying we have been kicking *** and then i get focus owners telling me they have been kicking *** lol im confused

 

Well, not sure of the real story or what the acutal outcome of the lap times would be, but the Focus does have a 2.0l ZTEC which is a good motor. You can easily strap a supercharger or turbo to the ZTEC and get well over 200hp very quickly. Can they get around the corners faster? All depends on the suspension set up and most importanly the driver. It is possible that they could post faster times.

 

I went here for some recent information on Streets of Willow lap times.

The problem is, you have to look at the driver list first to see who's driving what kind of car, and then go to the "lap times" link at the top of the page to see what lap times they did in each event, so it's pretty time-consuming to compare the Focus drivers' times to the MINI drivers' times.

But, it seems like some of the MINIs are faster than some of the Fords, and vice-versa, which is probably why you're seeing conflicting reports.

 

You may wish to consider making the drive out to Willow Springs this weekend to watch some MINIs out on the track.
