I don't own a MINI yet, but I've been reading all these RMW tune threads and you folks have me completely sold. I read that whole 60 page thread on the flash tool yesterday (OK, I skimmed most of it) and by the time I was done I was ready to place an order. Went home and told the wife this is gotta have!
Unfortunately I have a long wait before I can get out from under some debt and save up a down payment ...maybe I should try selling drugs or something
Is there any reason why the RMW tune would not work on the 2011 MCS? I assume it is the same ECU, but with the new valvetronics?
Mark, seriously dude, we are gonna have to get together and go for a ride in your JCW...I am just down the road in Gastonia. It'll all be over then, lol!

Pass the salt...
No problem man, whenever you're ready. My bodyshop is less than a mile and a half from the 485 intersection and independence blvd.
The reason I'm such a fan of RMW is because of the results for what you're paying for. I've done the Stage I kit and there is NO WAY IN HELL I would ever go back. Not even close.
Anyway, come see me.

Slartibartfast: as for buying a Mini, just do it. I bought one after driving my wife's just-a-Mini-a for a couple of years. That was enough for me. A ride in Mark's will probably just send you over the edge If you survive the ride (mentally) just as about his seats that'll really send you over.
OC: have you seen any posts for a RMW tune in the Northeast? Don't tell Slinger688 I'm looking

Typically tunes do not raise your gas mileage. They usually stay the same...
That is, if you can keep your foot out of it.
I can get 34-35mpg on the highway if I drove like my mother. Around town, I'm averaging 23'ish. (28-30 if I drove like a normal person)

Damn, you want even more gas mileage?

I dunno, it seems to me my mileage was better after tuning - that is after I had gotten over the initial joy and stopped driving with a lead foot.

Typically, (more so in this forum) the minis getting tuned are for performance.... Not for gas mileage.
