Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. I no longer fear water in my New MINI.

 

I don't fear rain either. I just fear the heat!

A few days ago I'm driving down the 51 and the temp reading said 119 degrees!!!! That's by far the hottest I've seen that thing get up to. I'm anxious for it to cool off so I can see how this thing performs in 70-80 degree weather. I hardly doubt my rogue intake likes the fact that it is working in temperatures hotter than hot tub!

Meeting at Denny's on Power Rd and the US 60 for a 8:00 AM departure. We're leaving early so we can be back in time for a British car show that evening in the Mesa area. It will make for a great all day event with the fun run then the car show. I'm working on getting the specifics for the car show.

I just ran thru the numbers it looks like 150 miles to Show Low, then 90 miles to Payson, then 80 miles back to Mesa. And it appears most of it is twisties, oh yea! I forsee many happy motoring miles on this fun run!

Actually picking the Denny's at Power Rd. & US 60 makes everything that much easier. The Cruise-In later in the day is right accross the street! It is located in the parking lot in front of K-Mart east of the Denny's. The first Saturday night of the month is 'British Car Night'. So our MINIS will be right at home with the rest of the British bred machines! So the people that want to attend the Cruise-In after the 'Fun Run' just PM me so that I can make sure the organizers of the Cruise-In leave enough open spaces for us to park together. It will be a good oportunity for us to meet the local Mini club members also. Bring your cameras!

 

 

I think it starts around 5PM or so. I'm sure if you stop by around 6, there'll be plenty to see.

 

Yes, will probably see a bunch of folks cleaning the road grime off their MINIS!

Hey everyone, been talking with Barney from Tucson and he is coming up for the run next Saturday. He's not bringing his Classic so he will and I will share the driving duties in my MCS. Plus that will mean we will always have someone to take pictures. And Dominic, your goal will almost be achieved! Shirley said she will be at the Denny's for the send off!

You guys are really tempting me to go on the run. I haven't been able to have a fun ride in my MINI for months.

Hello all. It finally looks as if I'm going to make a group run, which I've been trying to do since getting my MINI. I've also never been up to ShowLow, etc. so this will be good for many reasons. I also want to hang out at the British car cruise as well.

I'm looking forward to finally meeting all the people behind the posts.

I noticed over on the ON, that people are organizing group drives from different parts of the Valley to get to Denny's on Saturday morning. A novel idea! fun-runs to a fun-run.

We're going to keep it as relaxed as possible on Saturday. It's going to be a long day and the monsoons might get in our way. I've been checking radar images thruought today and have seen cells moving thru areas we'll be motoring. So be prepared to see/motor thru a thunder storm or two.

 

That sounds exciting to me, I love driving in the rain. I'm so excited, can't wait to go out and motor!!!
