Ok...there HAS to be some other Las Vegas owners on here. I was talking with one a while ago in email, but we never got around to meeting up. I see MINIs driving around on a fairly regular basis (about 1 a week) so there are others here in town.
I'd like to get some kind of organized thing going, maybe group drives around the area or something.
Anybody interested?

This too won’t help but…

I live in NYC but spend about five weeks a year in Vegas at my father’s condo on West Flamingo.

In the summer I often pop up to Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon (usually in Sebring convertable) to enjoy the cool air. It has occurred more than once to me how much fun it would be to cruise around that area in a MINI.

You guys are right, that's not much help.
Zappa, I'll buy you a drink when you come down if you want. Seems fair since I currently have free Amsoil in Alice.
Yeah, I'm seeing more and more MINIs around town, we even have a dealership here, but almost no-one on here. I parked next to a pretty DS/DS MCS with local plates at Sunset Station on thursday night, left a napkin with https://www.northamericanmotoring.com written on it under the wiper. I wonder if the owner will show up here?
Anyway, I just want to maybe meet some more ppl I might have something in common with.
It can be real hard to meet people in Vegas.

Agro,

Does anyone actually live in Vegas? I thought it was only for vacations.

Kinda makes you think, Huh?

Technically, Las Vegas isn't the fastest. Yesterday someone (don't know who) released the list of 50 fastest growing cities in the US. North Las Vegas was #2 and Henderson (basically South Las Vegas) was #3. Las Vegas itself didn't appear till #32.
People DO actually live here, though almost no-one was born here. I think it's only about 4% of the population was born here. Yes, FOUR percent.

On an on-topic note, at lunchtime today I saw a pretty PW/W Cooper on Maryland Pkwy near the In-N-Out. I flashed a greeting and the driver returned it. Are you on here? Say "Hi"!

I do not live in Vegas, but I have ordered my MINI from Desert MINI. It is my closest MINI dealer. I live in Cedar City, UT. 167 miles from Vegas..

I hop my MINI will be here the first of September..

Al Cheser..

P.S. Have not seen any MINI's in Cedar yet...

Welcome Al.
I ordered Alice from Desert too. Who did you talk to there?
One og the guys I work with bought his last 2 trucks (F150s) in Cedar City. I have no idea why.
Anyway...let me know when you come down to pick up your car. Maybe we can grab an In-N-Out burger or something and let the cars chat.

LOL....

I bought my last 3 cars in vegas, 4 counting the MINI.. My last car is a PT Cruiser. I am trading it in for my MINI...
I like small cars, drove a 1972 Honda 600 Sedan for several years, much smaller that the new MINI..

Al Cheser

P.S. My MINI is booked on the Trinidad, due to leave Southamton tomorrow (July 29), and be in calif. Aug. 22. How long did it take to get your MINI once it got to Calif?

I'll have my S in January, sold my 10 year old VW Corrado. Live in Vegas, the MINI is all I think about.

Once it FINALLY got to Cali, it was only about a week or so till it arrived. I say finally, coz it got stuck in that dock strike they had on the west coast last year. Was sitting off the LA docks, then went to Mexico, changed boats (though I didn't know that) then made it back to Cali. When it was going from Mexico to LA, the original ship was heading to Japan. That worried me at the time!
I picked up Alice last October and just hit 6000 miles. I heartily recommend getting a non-metal topped after-market shift **** if you are in Vegas. I was just about burning my hand daily till I got my CF ****.

There is the Silver State Mini Club, they have been around since forever, formerly for the classic Mini, but I don't have a contact for them now. I know a guy from Vegas that moved to Tucson, I can ask him the next time I see him if he knows what is going on with the Silver State Mini's and if they are rounding up NEW MINI's too.

66, that'd be GREAT! I would really appreciate it. I drove 2 1/2 hours each way on saturday to Zion National Park just to meet up with 2 other MINIS (well, the part was cool too) coz it was my 1st chance to meet other MINIs.

I notice you have named your MINI Alice. I call mine DB (Cooper). I have a picture of a MINI in Arizona with an autograph of Alice Cooper (the singer) on the boot.

The way I heard it that Alice got a ride in this MINI and the owner had him autograph it!

That'd be cool. I don't know if I'd let someone write on my car though.

Ok...I was recently contacted by another member of the Owner's Lounge regarding creating a Las Vegas MINI club. We had a 1st, informal meeting today and we are going to try to get something started.

Tentative name is Sin City MINIacs or Sin City MINI Club or something similar.

Feel free to contact me at agro@ragingbull.com if you are interested.

Agro.
