Any Carolina MINI's?
Yo Bob! Had forgotten you ordered a Mini. Bring it over and I'll gladly help you do that Zaino thing. We'll even clay the car if you want to. If I don't have to go flying, I'll be around Wednesday and Thursday. Going to Myrtle Beach on Friday.

Thanks for the private message, my husband has done the Zaino thing on our Volvo V-70 and we are most pleased. Have yet to do the MINI, hope to before the Flow rally. As matter of fact if your offer to Bob is good for us we would love to have your expert help doing the Zaino thing sometime this week.

Janibird, I would be more than glad to help you. Unless I get called and have to go to my real job, I'll be available Wednesday and Thursday. Call me and we can get a plan together.
I was speaking to a Mini owner who has a body shop on Independence Blvd. He would be agreeable to provide facilities for a Car Care Seminar just for the Mini's. With the Holiday Season fast approaching, we talked about maybe a Saturday afternoon in January. His facility is such that we can wash cars in warmth and do all we would need to in heated comfort. Maybe some other area owners would want to "chime in" here and let us know if they like the idea.

Liquid Yellow under a white roof MCS with Lapis Blue interior.
Picked her up this morning from Century Mini in Greenville... and I love it! First tune was the U of M fight song... and she's home just in time for the Michigan - Ohio State game!

Edtrbob,
I passed you going the opposite direction on I85 around Kings Mt. at about 10:00AM.
Now for the questions.
How do you like your new MCS?
When is our first Charlotte MINI Meet?
Was Hail to the Victors the first song your MINI heard?

The Answers:
Yes, "Hail To The Victors" was the 1st song played!
Go Blue!
Yes, I love it, and can't wait to get through the break-in period and wind it out.
Beat Ohio State!
I have a TSD rally route written that starts in Gastonia and ends in Clover. It's a nice half-day event with some great back roads (all paved) that finishes at a little bar & grille in Downtown CLover. Maybe we could do a spring TSD Mini event??

Thanks, what a game!
Michigan really out played OSU in most areas. Michigan came to Columbus to play hard and they did. I know OSU will not be favored in the Fiesta Bowl. All we can do is cheer them on.
There is a post on MINI2 about an outing to Victory Karting in Charlotte during Jan.
Check it out should be fun.
I like your idea about a TSD MINI Rally in the spring.
Let me know if you would like to try to get a few MINIs in Charlotte together before years end. If any Charlotte area MINIs are reading, let us know.

Also in Raleigh and awaiting my MC in 1Q2003. So far, I've seen four others: an electric blue MCS w/white roof; red MC w/white roof, silk green MCS w/white roof and Indy Blue MC w/ white roof. A drop in the sea of SUV's around here.
Greetings!
I am 85% settled on getting a non-S mini cooper and I am really excited! I live in the Mooresville NC and I plan on going up to flow mini the begining of this coming week for a test drive. Have any of you guys dealt with flow mini? How did it go? Are there any non-S owners out there with advice? The lease on my VW is up in August so Im hoping I can get one orderd in time for an early september delivery. Any input or advice would be great. Id love to meet some mini owners in my area as well to take a look at what youve got.
Thanks,
Photonicdj

Photonicdj,
Welcome! There are quite a few MINI owners in the area and there is a MINI Motoring Club of the Carolinas that is in the final stages of organization. We have already had several informal meetings and just got together for The Italian Job and lunch this past Saturday.
I have an S, so no non-S advice. As for Flow, they are a fine dealership. They were very professional with me and were always a pleasure to work with. However, I went with Century MINI in Greenville. My order at Flow went from a July delivery to an estimated Sept delivery. I was able to order my car from Century and get it in record time...just a couple of months. So, I like both dealers. Century can get you a car quicker in most cases, but you'll pay a little more for the car.
See ya,
JS

I have a Cooper(non-S) and love it. My decision was made easier due to the expected wait on an S. I ordered my Velvet Red/White Cooper last June and took delivery at Flow MINI on August 26th. At the time I ordered my Cooper there was a 12-14 month wait on an S. Flow is great to deal with and they have always charged MSRP with no forced extras. Ask for Joe Culp, he's great to work with.
Hi Carolina MINIs
I will be in Raleigh for a seminar from June 12th to June 17th. The class ends at about 5 each day. There is plenty of time in the evenings to go for rides in my MINI. Can any of you recommend some motoring routes. I can't wait to explore N.C. as this will be my first visit to your state.

Hello SC MINIs!!
Is the BMW plant in Greenville SC?
Also are there any people here in the Myrtle Beach area or club? I have some business there and may come over at the end of the summer...

BMW is actually in Greer, SC.... Midway between Greenville & Spartanburg.
I'm sure there are new MINIs in MB, don't know of any personally, but I do have a friend there who drives a 1974 Mini Clubman. Cool car. He races it in the SCR-SCCA Solo II events, as do I...
