EdtrBob, I met you Tuesday at Century. I hope we can find some more Carolina MINIs. Will your MCS be here before Eurofest?

Sportech Aug 25, 2002 12:44 PM

I'm in Mooresville. I travel extensively (NASCAR) but have an occansionaly off weekend. I've been down here (from Michigan) for 2 1/2 years and love the roads for all my cars. I went to Charleston to buy my yellow/black "S" (couldn't wait) and still have a red/black "S" on order. Let me know and I'll check my schedule!! Or any time Monday to Wednesday.

mininc Aug 25, 2002 01:50 PM

Sportech - Thanks for the reply. Weds would be a good day for me. I travel on Mon, Tues, and Thurs out of the Charlotte area. I'm interested to find out what you do with Nascar. I spent 1996 - 2000 seasons on Busch series pit crews as an over-the-wall weekend warrior (catchcan and gas).....so I know how valuable those weekends at home are.

I will be out of town however, this Weds. If you would like to meet somewhere near Mooresville, just post a place and date/time. Maybe we can pick up a few more MINIs to join us.

EdtrBob Aug 26, 2002 12:28 PM

Sportech -
Where in Michigan? Originaly from Plymouth/Ann Arbor area here... we've been in Charlotte almost 10 years now. You'll know my mini when you see it: Yellow MCS, white roof with the big block M on top!

MiniNC -
I'm hoping to take delivery in late Setember, so I should have it for EuroFest!

Remember, Mini's are welcome at the TSD road rally on October 26. We'll gather at the Knights Castle off of 77 in Fort Mill that morning, rally starts after lunch. I'll have a trophy for the mini division if we have enought entries. Details at http://www.ptdepot.com/ctc_iii.htm

Hope to see you there!

Bob

The 7th annual Euro Fest is a 3-day event featuring exhibits, vendors, an autocross, plant tours and a road rally at the BMW factory in Sout Carolina (I-85 exit 60).

The featured car this year is the Mini Cooper.

EuroFest dates are October 18-20. Details at http://www.euroautofestival.com

EuroFest if very cool. If you do get to go, make sure to take the tour of the BMW plant -- very very interesting. And BMW has a great museum collection there. Hopefully I will make it up this year in my S.

I will be attending my first Euro 2002. I am glad to here your recommendation. There are groups of MINIs going to Euro 2002 from FL and GA and another group from TN,VA and NC. It should be a great event for our MINIs. There is a post on MINI2.com listed under Meetings and Events. It is long, but worth the time to check out if you are considering attending.null

Looking forward to seeing lots of Carolina Minis at Eurofest!

A reminder for any of you who are interested in a little rally action... Cruisin' The Carolinas III includes a straight forward Time-Speed-Distance road rally that is perfect for first-time rally teams. You, your Mini and a navigator over paved roads at safe speeds, enjoying some great back roads!

The event is Saturday afternoon, October 26. It starts at the AAA baseball stadium in Fort Mill, SC, just off of I-77.

If we can getr at least 5 Minis to register, the organizers will add a trophy for the best score from a Mini!

Details, links to more rallt sites, and on-line registration at http://www.ptdepot.com/ctc_iii.htm

I live in Huntersville and would be interested in getting together with everyone from this area who own MINIs so that other motorists could stare at all of us and not just me!! EdtrBob, I think we know each other....Post Central ring a bell...? Formerly with Creative Post..? I work with Jim Roller on the ALMS series, when I mentioned my MINI I think he said you had one too....schedule permitting... I'm up for about anything...

mininc Sep 3, 2002 06:00 AM

Someone pick a place and time. Maybe a Saturday? Just a thought.

bartleby Sep 11, 2002 04:16 AM

I have a chili red Cooper S currently en route to the Charleston dealer. Hopefully, I'll be picking it up in the next 2-3 weeks. I live in Gaffney, SC and work in Charlotte. Got my first glimpse of a new Mini at the BMW 2002 gathering at the BMW plant last February. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make Eurofest this year, since we have a family beach trip planned for that weekend. Don't know if it belonged to one of you guys, but I spotted a yellow/black S on Wilkinson Blvd a couple of weeks ago. That's the only S I've seen on the road, other than the one I test drove.

I just returned from Century Mini in Greenville, SC. I traded in my 3 month old 02 Cooper for a 02 DSilver/Black MCS with all 3 packages and leather. I loved my cooper but I am already enjoying the increased power of the MCS. I was lucky that someone did not take the car when it came in. We need to get Charlotte area MINIs together. I meet Sportech for dinner in Mooresville several weeks ago and had a great visit. Let’s all get together. My email is <a href="mailto:mininc@aol.com

EdtrBob Oct 9, 2002 10:59 AM

My build date was September 27, now I'm waiting on the boat. I won't have my Liquid Yellow with Lapis Blue leather MCS (it's a Michigan thing)in time fir Eurofest, but I'm still hoping to have it in time for the "Cruisin' The Carolinas" road rally on Oct. 26.

I'd lov e to get together with the other Charlotte area Minis once mine gets here!

Janibird, I am in North Charlotte. I would be glad to get together sometime. I was in Greenville over the weekend for Euro. It was great. I meet MINI owners from FL to VA that post on MINI2. We had a group of twelve MINIs drive together in the NC Mountains. It was great fun to drive with everybody and see each other’s MINIs. My email is mininc@aol.com. Just let me know when and where.

Century MINI, Greenville, SC Open House

Is anybody going to the Century MINI Open House this Thursday? I heard they sent invitations to all their current and future customers. I am planning on going. Sounds like it should be fun.

mininc Nov 9, 2002 02:48 AM

Edtrbob

I was at Century on Friday morning and saw your new MCS. I know it was yours, it was LY/W with Lapis Blue. That Michigan roof decal should tie it together nicely. When you get your roof decal please post a picture.

EdtrBob Nov 9, 2002 03:25 PM

I'm going crazy knowing my Mini is in and I can't get to it! It's a priorities problem for me, but I'm working through the weekend and won;t get her until Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.

At least I'll have it before the Michigan - Ohio State game! We'll see what the Buckeye-wife says when she sees it! My sister is with a custom sign shop north of Atlanta, and my Christmas preasant is the logo for the roof... you can be sure that I'll get the pics on-line ASAP!

Go Blue

mininc Nov 10, 2002 09:03 AM

Sorry to hear that you have been unable to pick up your new MCS yet.
I will be going to Greenville from Charlotte on Tuesday morning for work. I would be glad to give you a ride to Century. Please just email me at mininc@aol.com.

I had not mentioned yet that I am from Ohio. Although I did not go to OSU, I am still a big Buckeye fan. I have attended a few Michigan, Ohio State games. I have even been to The Big House for some Michigan, OSU games. So besides MINIs we will have something else in common.

Go Bucks
