Just over 28 months and 60,000 miles later
Yesterday on my way home from work the odometer read 60,000 miles, for a short time.
I am happy to report that I've had nothing but good times with my first new car. I've had other cars before, but this was my first NEW car. And one that I could drive hard and have a gigantor smile on my face all the time.
I live in MN and in the 28 months or so of the MINI being in the family, we've seen all sorts of things together.
My MINI has always performed when I needed it to on our club fun runs. It doesn't get jealous when we don't get to participate in the scavenger hunt because it takes pride in knowing that it helped organize the event.
Despite multiple surgeries for transmission replacements, my MINI still goes strong, with only minor complaints early on. Even when I tried to fit my bike in the garage while still on the MINI, it was nice to me and didn't get too beat up or mad at me.
I love this car. I love the discussions about it with total strangers. I love the family feeling. I love the forums, the aftermarket tuners, and the fellow owners who know what I'm talking about.
60,000 miles down and several hundred thousand more!!
Here is an example of some of our trips:

Thanks for reading, posting and offering help, opinions, thoughts, experiences etc.

- The fastest speeds on a cloverleaf
- The twistiest roads in the Metro
- The twisty and scenic Skyline Drive in Duluth
- The scenic North Shore of Lake Superior
- The fall colors at Lutsen
- the heat of Las Vegas
- the cool lights of Las Vegas
- some of the coldest winters in the country - without a garage or the cold weather package

Congrats, Adam! And we are NOT strangers on this forum...not most of us, anyway! I've managed, on my two annual cross-country roadtrips, to meet a whole bunch of NAMsters! WE ARE FAMILY!
Cheers to you and your next 60K miles! May you and your MINI motor them in good health!
