Hey tommyb!
Thanks for stopping over. My brother-in-law and his family live in Maple Grove. He drives a Cobra SVT convertable on occassion. He let me drive it once - whoa.... that was fun!
I look forward to meeting you sometime!
As far as the exhaust goes - I drove minuguru's MCS with an exhaust and some other goodies, and it was a blast. The sound of the exhaust just make you want to drive it fast even MORE.

Hi adame,
Nice to met you, haven't seen the Cobra around ,but it sounds like a blast, there is a little Black Morris Minor running around the streets lately, they always wave, I've seen a couple of other MINI's in the area and wave but no reply from the other drivers.
Not sure which exhaust to get, do not want it too loud, but want a nice sound, a K&N intake filter set-up would be great as well, also thinking of some simple graphics and tinted windows, I guess my list keeps growing.
Any way, see ya round,
tommyb

Dave let me ride along during his 3rd run. It was a blast.

Glad you had fun. So we'll see you out there competing next year?
The course was great. Well layed out and allowed you to get going fast enough to have fun. Hopefully we'll get to use that venue next year. I gotta get off the run-flats though. Man do they suck. It was great to meet Roger, Paul, and (oh crap...was it...) Ron?. We had fun and it was great to see everyone out there. I was amazed at how well all of the MINI's did.

OK, so just out of curiosity, and since this thread has become the official ADD thread, is there anyplace that I could practice AutoX without the police glaring at me? I mean are there any regular places that somebody could go to experiment a bit without getting into trouble? I don't need any trouble.
Unless you own your own parking lot or something, 'practicing' for autocross is pretty much going to be illegal.
You can do some stuff in your normal daily driving to build good habits. Drive with both hands on the wheel, and your left foot on the dead pedal (unless you're using the clutch
) Try to really, really exaggerate the smoothness with which you turn the steering wheel and press the brakes and gas. Try to look ahead around the corners. Stuff like that. You don't have time to think about being smooth during the autocross, so if it is a habit, you're one step ahead

There's a nice short set of S's from 62s to 100s. If there aren't any cars in front of you you can pretty much push your foot down the whole way, all the while practicing your smooth turn transitions.... of course this is a little bit faster than an autox, but still relates
Just thought we'd add some more to the official ADD thread. We picked up our new multifunction photo printer yesterday and we were playing with the negative scanning function. Here's another picture of Allie. Note her choice of reading material.

There are two or three Minis in the parking lot where I work. If you're close to Rochester, maybe we can have Mini Mornings at Bruegger Bagels or something (since my wife and I are there like every Saturday morning anyhow
)... Which reminds me that I saw a Cooper S there last Saturday.

All of the MINIs I've encountered in Winona have waved and some even flash their lights! All good motorers. I guess that's what happens when there are only a few around.
In case anyone is still reading this thread
I just joined the forum today and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Bonnie, and my Mini is called "The Mini." It's a classic Mini, white, black folding sunroof. You'll most often see me in Minneapolis and the west side of St. Paul.

Classic mini with a folding roof - VERY COOL! Are you a member of MMPEAPSHA (or however that goes...)? They have a lot of classic minis running around.
Look forward to meeting you and seeing you at some of our events!
