Sept 17 Site Upgrade - post problems here

This morning I performed an upgrade to the software that supports the site. While I have worked to insure that it is seemless there always seems to be a few things that get lost in the shuffle. Given this please post follow ups on anything you find:

- not working
- presented in a strange layout
- broken images
- button clicks take you somewhere you didn't expect
- etc.

When posting a follow up please include steps you took to produce the problem.

Thanks!

Mark

Do you want the Off-Topic items in the Recent Topics?

Otherwise some of the new upgrades are nice

When viewing "New Posts", I don't see the "Main Menu", "Latest Topics" and "Buddy List" menus on the left nor do I see the "Vendor" window between the banner and the messages.

I'm upset about the 'New Posts' layout. I hope its an accident and not intentionally done that way

Can you be more specific on which pages you're seeing this? Thanks

Can you be more specific about what problem is on the new posts layout besides the Main Menu, etc. missing? I'm working on resolving the Main Menu issues on this page right now.

Every page in the banner area at the top and bottom banner areas in the grey, and in the opening page on the top and bottom, where the ad icons should be mostly.? mark under the vendor box at the top of the posts page. Vendor box is the only ad icon that displays, actually.

^^ same problem here. Question marks where the banner should be, in the ad area, and under the "Out Motoring Menu ad". Also in lower left and right corners.

Using Safari.

So far, so good. I am glad to see the implementation of MultiQuote this time. Makes answering or referring to multiple posts a lot easier.

Still needs more smilies though. I know Perf Mods could use and and on a regular basis.

Vendor Directory / Main Menu Homepage

Seems the Links on the Vendor Directory when accessed from the Homepage Main Menu (lefthand side) all show forbidden when I click on the vendor.

Mark, I just tried to use the multiquote button in Firefox and it didn't respond at all. Almost like it wasn't recognizing the mouseclick. The regular quote button worked happily.

Ahhh...I think I worked it out. I was assuming that multiclick would show a post containing a quote as a nested quote in my reply.
It appears that it has a different function entirely, allowing you to quote multiple posts in a single reply without having to cut and paste.
In that case, can I request that the quote button include quotes nested inside the quoted post? Something like the reply nesting that occurs in PMs.

By any chance is there a list of all the keyboard commands that work with VBulletin?

Smilies.com Just loads onto your toolbar, more than you can EVER use!

The only keyboard shortcuts would be those that work for your browser. vBulletin is still a web-based application so its up to what the browser supports.

This is really a function of what vBulletin supports. If it is supported now or released as a standard feature in the future it will automatically be rolled into the site.

Thanks!

Also...looked into what multi-quote really does. It doesn't do the nesting piece but allows you to select multiple posts and quote/reply to them in a single post.

There has been lots of discuss on the vBulletin site about what it really does as most people (myself included) thought it did nesting...not multiple post quote and reply.

Hope this helps!

Mark

Is this with Safari?

If so can you provide me the following information?

1) Path information
a) Using Safari CTRL click (or right click if you have a two button
mouse) on one of the ? broken images and choose Copy Image Address
b) Paste the address in a reply to this post.

2) Cache clear
Under the Safari menu select Empty Cache - return to the NAM page and
click Apple-R on your keyboard. Let me know if there is any change in
the display.

3) Version of Safari you are using and the version of OS X you are on

Thanks!

Mark
