Time Lag on Posts

I'm a new user around here (in the waiting/on-order phase) but I'm curious if all posts are moderated. All of my posts have an incredible time lag before I see them (hours). Do all users experience this?

I actively participate in many online forums and I'm used to my posts showing up instantaneously...

We review new member posts prior to making them visible. Usually this is done quickly but as this weekend is a holiday weekend and many admins and moderators are away from their computers so reviews may take a little longer. Thanks!

Initial posts of all new users are moderated, and have been for the past two years or so. We do this primarily to catch spammers and trolls before their posts show up on the forum. It does mean though that at times there is a delay in posts showing up because it takes a moderator to approve the posts. That initial inconvenience for new members results in a forum that is generally spammer free.

Cool. I'm just glad it wasn't something on my end. Thanks for the quick feedback.
